Yeah, it's been a while since the last update. I know. I've been a bit busier than usual, and my stress levels are at an all time high. I don't like being such an angry person all the time, and it's definitely getting to me.
So I've been tinkering with programs like Camserv and Cheetah Video Daemon to try to hack together a streaming version of the Accipi-Cam. I was finally able to get the BT848 driver working (Intel Smart Video Recorder III), only to see a blue image with a timestamp as the result. The driver was obviously working, and it was now just a matter of screwing with the config files. Turns out I needed to set the input to the correct port, and specify NTSC. After a good 3 hours of work getting all of this stuff set up and working, I fire up the streamer to discover the images look like absolute crap. I'll stick with the 30 second update Perl Script I wrote. It's more reliable, and less bandwidth intensive.
In other news, I managed to put a fairly large hole in my computer room wall. I don't think property management is going to be too thrilled about that.
