So yep, I did it. I never thought I'd see the day this actually happened, but it did. I now own a Mac. I'm actually typing this entry on my new iBook, and it's definitely interesting. I will admit that up until Mac OS X, I was a bigtime Mac-hater, and was never afraid to say so. You'd have not found anyone who hated Mac more than me.

Then Apple introduced OS X, which was actually a UNIXish OS underneath a very elegant GUI. The best part is, you could pop open a terminal and GET to that UNIX OS. Apple had a habit of hiding the internals and advanced functions of the OS from the user, so this was a big thing. Plus the fact that it was UNIX down there was also pretty cool. Apple got it right with OS X, so I decided that maybe I should check it out.

The design of the computer itself is pretty nice, too. It looks nothing like the classic toilet seat space-clam iBook, but is actually a nice silver magnesium case with a white outer shell. It's pretty slick. Check out a picture.

Of course, this thing came with OS X and OS 9.2, but I only booted 9.2 to check it out. Bah on 9.2 and give me X.
