Over the next few days, the Accipiter.org network will be experiencing intermittant network outages. For the first time in almost two years, Accipiter.org will be moving to a new ISP. As much as I love SpeakEasy, the Covad line that they provide just isn't working well anymore. Considering my actual distance from the CO, it's not much of a surprise.

The network will be transitioning to SpeedFactory within the next week, and I'm hoping that downtime will be minimal. I'm expecting significant speed increases (down more than up), as well as better reliability (since I'll be closer to the appropriate DSLAM) so I'm looking forward to it.

So if you're reading this, that means the transition hasn't yet happened, and can occur at any time. See you on the other side.

Update: Correction. It seems the date of the transition will be August 19. It would figure I'd be at work when it happens. Bah.

Update: I came across an interesting site today. Why is it that every two-bit hack with a copy of FrontPage or Dreamweaver thinks they can call themself a "web designer" when in reality, they don't have even the slightest grasp of either design or the underlying technology? The LadyBug exemplifies this.

Hell, I understand design and can make websites, and I don't even call myself a web designer.
