I've been working on making accipiter.org a little more dynamic. As a result, I have been steadily improving stuff on the backend. The latest addition to the site is PHP. Now that PHP is installed and running, the site will be changing dramatically, though visitors to the site will probably notice very little.
For example, you'll notice the date appears on the main index. Originally, this date was generated by a bit of Javascript, and calculated by the client. (That means, when you come to the page, your browser generates the date.) Now, the date is actually calculated server-side, and slapped into the HTML document before it's even sent to you. Obviously, this is a small accomplishment, and nobody would have ever known it had changed without viewing the source, but this is the type of stuff I will be doing to the site.
It'll make it a lot easier to manage, as well.
In other news, it seems the lease on my apartment expires a bit later than I had originally thought. Rather than being out of my present apartment on May 25, I actually have until May 31. Groovy, considering I would have had to pay $75/day in pro-rated rent at the new place for six days. Screw that.
My current apartment looks more and more bare by the day as my living room fills up with boxes. Pretty much everything that can be packed IS packed, except for a few more things in the kitchen. (Glasses and pots, etc.)
I'll be moving out two days early. That'll give me a bit of time to get my utilities transferred over and my mail forwarded.
