Happy New Year!

Yet another new header image hits Accipiter.org's front page this evening. To be honest, I don't even have the next header done yet. Granted, I have a month, but I used to have them done three months ahead of time.

Just as my sore throat decided to go away, an ass-kicking cold decided to pay me a visit. I'm sitting here with a runny/stuffy nose, a clogged left ear, an annoying cough, and aches all over. What a wonderful way to spend New Year's Eve, eh? Of course, I say this as if I had a life to begin with, but hey... let me keep my illusion, okay? ;)

On a positive note, I have something I'm really excited about. The other night, I spent some of that hard-earned Christmas cash and bought myself George Foreman's Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine. Since I live alone, I got the smallest one available, and let me tell you - this thing rocks. So far I've only grilled up some steak and asparagus, but they both came out really tasty.

How did I make the food? Simple. For the steak, I just went to the grocery store and picked up a cheap grilling steak. I sprinkled some garlic and pepper on top, brushed it lightly with olive oil, and threw it on the grill for five minutes or so. For the asparagus, I cut about an inch off the bottom of the stalks, cut them in half, and wrapped them in some foil with a bit of butter. Three minutes, and they were tender.

If you don't have one of these things, I highly recommend it. Several people have told me that this thing can make a mean grilled cheese, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm all for experimentation!

Update: You know, Thera-Flu Lemon doesn't taste half bad.
