The Accipiter.org IRC server is now online and fully operational. After tinkering around with several different ircd packages, I finally found one that works. It was up and running last night, and services came online shortly afterward. I was confused with regard to the NickServ nickname registrations disappearing when the services were brought offline, but later I figured out that it just needs time to sync with the databases.

In any case, all is working now. If you want to connect, fire up your IRC client, and connect to "accipiter.org" on ports 6667-6669, or 7000. IRC services are available, and it is a public server. Enjoy.

As a result of implementing the IRC server, my machine "sausage" now has a function! The information has been updated in the Personal Gallery to reflect this. (Defiant has a new use too, providing IRC services.)

Update: My brand new 8MB Lexar Media Flash Card arrived today. I guess FedEx is fixed.
