I've recently decided that I'm going to start seriously looking into purchasing a home. Apartments are okay until you realize that month after month, you're shoving your rent into an endless abyss with no means to satiate, and from which there is no return. Granted, on the off-chance something goes wrong with the apartment, the maintenance people come out and fix it at no charge to you. However, the frequency of such an occurance versus the frequency of rent payments is not in the tenant's favor.
Therefore, I decided I want that money to start going somewhere, while simultaneously wishing that I could make improvements on my living space, not be cramped by neighbors that may or may not be noisy, have to fight over parking, and other tidbits of apartment life. Plus, I want a place to call "home" and "mine" at the same time. Getting a house seems like a decent solution, and shouldn't cost me much more than I pay in rent.
Now to get rid of a lot of this junk I have lying around.
