So I'm sitting in my apartment last night, minding my own business, when I get a message from Chris that simply said, "LOTS of police coming in." I jumped to my window and saw a line of police cruisers heading down the main road of the apartment complex, turn in front of my building and STOP. At this point, one of the officers gets out of his car, runs to the back and pulls a fucking shotgun out of his trunk. Then they head up the road and around the bend from my building.

I was outside immediately, armed with my camera. Unfortunately due to the low-light conditions and me accidently knocking my camera into the wrong mode and not noticing (dammit), the pictures came out like shit. It seemed to be a non-event anyway, since the police (along with the ambulance and two firetrucks that also showed up) left calmly after about 10 minutes. It didn't appear they had anyone in custody, but several of the cruisers were out of my sight, so they might have taken some people.

After it was all over, I asked the cop with the shotgun if I could take his picture, and he said sure. In retrospect, I should have asked him to pose with the shotgun and say "SPREAD IT ON!" but it didn't occur to me until afterward.

Here is the picture of the line of police cars. I just noticed the filename, too. Excellent. This is the cop who was nice enough to pose for a photo.

Update: I added a rather small feature to the photo browser earlier. At the bottom of the main index, it now displays the totals for images and galleries. Yay?
