Happy new year, folks.
As of late last month, I am once again completely debt-free. Well, not really completely; my MasterCard has about a $40 balance. I literally have more in quarters in my house than I have in debt. (I have a cup sitting in the other room with about $130 in quarters.) It's a nice feeling, and this isn't the first time I've experienced it. The last time I was debt free was mid-2004. Then I bought my car, and I've spent the last year or so paying that down. Now it's paid in full, and thus endeth my debt once again. Hooray!
I'll be visiting Scott and Julia in Nashville later this week, as Scott will be moving to Washington DC to start kicking ass at his new job with the DoD. Julia is making spaghetti. Subsequent to that, I'll be visiting Kurt and Ches. (Even though it's their turn to come visit me, I'm doing the honorable thing in allowing them to forfeit their turn. I'm a nice guy like that.)
I've also made a spurt of progress this past week in my genealogical research. I've managed to locate a relative of some sort; my grandfather's aunt's granddaughter. I'm looking forward to exchanging data and stories with her.
