February 1, 2006
Well that was quick. January is over already. 2006 just started and it's already got one month under its belt.
I really wish all of the people who need to mail me tax information would just go ahead and mail it already. I'm always very good about getting my taxes done on time (I've NEVER filed any later than mid-March), and I hate waiting for the information to trickle into my mailbox. At this point I'm just waiting to fill in one or two more pieces of information, then it's ready to be filed. It looks like I'm getting a pretty nice refund too, so maybe I'll take a trip this year. Considering I didn't take any vacation in all of 2005, a trip would be nice. I'd really like to go to Japan.
On a separate tangent, I've been talking about buying a 1980s model Pontiac Firebird for a KITT conversion since before I moved to Atlanta. After picking up season 3 of Knight Rider on DVD, my interest in the project was renewed. Unfortunately my enthusiasm didn't last long as it was quickly killed off by the estimated costs for the project. The car itself would cost around $2k, the necessary body details would be another $1k, and a decent paint job would be another $1500 to $2k. Nearly $5000, and that's not even counting the car's interior. Of course that's not a lot of money for a car (my Jetta was more than that), but it's certainly a bit too much for a hobby project on a 20 year-old car.
I'm sure I'll get around to it soon after I've paid off my DeLorean.

Update: Oh yeah, there's a new header image. I don't care if you like it or not.
