Twisting someone's emotions: A Practical Step-by-Step HowTo Guide:

  1. Get close to them and make them feel really special. Allow them to believe they're accomplishing the same with you.
  2. Disregard their feelings a few times, and do so in such a way that they are forced to try and abandon you.
  3. Make efforts to talk by messaging them sweet things like "I miss you" along with various attempts at conversation until they relent and start talking to you again. Because hey, while they probably didn't make this fact obvious, they miss you too.
  4. Move in as fast as possible and feign the highest levels of sincerity to try and repair the situation.
  5. Pretend all is great for a few days - perhaps even better than it was originally - then slowly start ignoring them.
  6. After a semi-long period of not acknowledging them at all, go ahead and pick one attempt at contact they've made and, while staging a conversation through a third party, refer to them as "just some guy I know."

Congratulations! You've successfully made the other person feel like a piece of shit!

Ugh. As Jon would put it, "People suck." Hopefully all your friends can make you feel not like a piece of shit, for you do not deserve to feel bad.

You don't need to put up with that abuse. You can do better. You are a cute, smart, funny guy.

Next time, just tell him that you don't appreciate it and stand up for yourself. At least he'll respect you.
