I've recently finished updating the site to conform with the new XHTML 1.1 document type. This new doctype is modular, so while many features found on older DTDs are no longer in the standard DTD, they are available via XHTML modules. Luckily, I caught a few errors while revalidating each page on the site, and have managed to get everything conforming to XHTML 1.1.
In other news, I've already booked my flight for my Christmas trip to Florida. I'll be away from the 23rd to the 27th, but I'll have internet access, so I'll still be around somewhat. I've also solved the problem of having the website fail while I'm away and not being revived until I return. I set up a special dedicated dial-in server for myself, so if my DSL decides to die, I can dial into my network and power-cycle the DSL modem via the command line. That way, my internet access doesn't have to be down for the duration of any of my future trips, as I can reset it from anywhere.
I bought a few shirts recently. I got a couple from ThinkGeek, one from Red Meat, and one from the Homestar Runner store. I needed a few more shirts, so it works out. I'll probably pick up a few more eventually.
