So I found out last night that DirecTV DSL is shutting down. This is not good, as they are the connectivity for me, my website, mail, everything. So to transition my service as painlessly as possible, I've signed up for SpeakEasy DSL.

DirecTV DSL has stated that the network will be operational for at least the next 30 days. I'm confident my new DSL service will be up and running before that point, at which time I will transition my servers over, and let the other connection die.

So it seems I'll have another outage coming soon. Obviously, Accipiter.org and related services will be unavailable until the servers are plugged into the new service, and DNS has updated to accommodate the new IP addresses.

Yeah. That was plural. I'm getting two IP addresses instead of my current single IP.

Update: Well, I cancelled my SpeakEasy order, as the speeds they were offering were not quite on par with the price they were asking. (608kbps downstream, 128 up - $59 a month.) Thus, I'm currently in search of a DSL provider that can give me a static IP address and decent speeds for a reasonable price.

I was slated to get a free Playstation 2 out of the deal, too. Bah.
